It's the thought that counts...

We would like to thank everyone who supported our recent Trivia night. 13 tables competed for the honour of team of the evening. Congratulations to the winning team lead by Sam Bell and Bridget Veld (Saturday team leader). Their FUN attitude definitely won them the prize on the night. We raised an amazing $5200. Every cent will go towards helping families in the Ballarat region.

Trivia night winners

Special thanks to Allan Peach for donating his time and talent to support our cause and to the East Ballarat Bowls Club for hosting the event. Stay tuned for next years date. I know teams are already preparing their dancing training in the lead up to the next Trivia Night.

Cots for Tots - We did it!!!

During September and October we set a target of collecting 50 cots. We asked our supporters to donate their preloved cot of bassinet or to make a donation of money to purchase a new cot. It was an ambitious target but we give out four cots every week so our goal was to have a ready supply to meet future need. We are delighted to tell you that we meet this target.

Jessi challenged her friends to help her purchase a cot and then sent us the following message: "Hi I've just purchased the three cots online through your website and I will deliver the bedding. We ended up raising $490 from 32 people in the Avoca area and through Facebook. Keep up the great work guys."

Great work Jessi and friends, it is amazing how every little bit counts.

Tools For Schools

Our next campaign is Tools for Schools.  where we ask you to assist us with the essentials to assist a child to start the new year at school on the right foot.

The gift of a new backpack, lunch box, drink bottle and other school items can make a huge difference to a child’s self esteem and engagement at school. We already have case workers asking for these bundles and telling us that the need for these items is widespread this year.

We will be closed from Saturday 17 December  and reopen Thursday 12 January. The best please to find our opening hours is on our website as they do change regularly depending on volunteer availability.

On behalf of all our volunteers and Committee of Management I would like to thank you for your support in 2016. Every little bit helps to keep a child safe. They say it takes a village to raise a child and we are proud to be living in your village. May you have a safe holiday and we will see you in 2017.
